I got this the other day and wanted to swatch and review it for you guys.

This is a pretty face powder/blusher, but not as pigmented as I had hoped. Honestly, I think I was yet again, suckered in by the packaging/product design. It has Vera’s signature engraved on the actual product, as well as lines of demarcation to separate all the colors. The colors are, of course, intended to be swirled together to make one color.

Below you will see the swatches of each section, separately. As a side note, the silver lines on the product is just an over spray… It will completely disappear after the first use.

And the final swatch of all the shades swirled together:

A light, peachy-pink – but more of a pink tone and slight peach undertone.

It will show up just like the swatch if you’re an NC20 (MAC shade). If you are below an NC20, it will show up much more pigmented of course. NC25′s to NC37′s will still get a nice pink glow with this on the cheeks – but not enough for those shades to spend the $28 USD on the powder… Stick with a regular MAC Powder Blush. For the ladies (and gents) that are above an NC37 — this would make a nice cheek highlighter

There are some things to take into consideration with straightening your hair.

• What type of flat iron will your hair type need? One that has anti-frizz technology? One that heats up to 450 degrees? Ceramic plates? And the list of questions can go on and on to match one for your hair TYPE.
• What features are you looking for? What will make your life easier? What feature can save you time if you’re a gal-on-the-go? Digital thermometer screen? Swivel cord? Auto-off mechanism? Or maybe one that claims to heat up in 15 seconds?
• Size…. Yup, size matters when straightening your hair! Obviously someone with a pixie cut do, would have a difficult time using a large flat iron like a 2″. They may want to go for the “mini” versions or the standard 1″. Someone with long, thick, hair – may want to go for the 2″, and may find that a 1″ would make straightening hair a daunting task.
• Shape. Simple. Ergonomic handle maybe? Or maybe one with curved edges so you can also use the flat iron to make beachy waves, or sexy curls.

For myself, I selected a pretty inexpensive flat iron from Target. A purple, Remington Digital-Heat Ceramic 1″ Flat Iron. At the time of purchase (about 3-4 months ago) it was on sale for $17.99. I think it’s around $20.99 USD in-stores: view the specs and photos here.

This works great for me! Granted it did have an offensive, plastic burning, smell for the first 2 weeks of use… But that smell has since gone away. Not too sure what was causing it… I even wiped it down with rubbing alcohol cotton pads. For under $20.00 I’m pretty happy with it. It does as it says. It only heats up to 410 degrees, whereas my old (RIP) Cortex use to go up to 450 – no biggie. 410 seems to straighten my hair just as well.

Revlon’s “Blue Mosaic”
A light blue tinted, clear gloss, polish. Multi sized, multi shaped glitters, speckled throughout. The glitter is distributed evenly. No issues with placement of the hexagon shaped glitters! FTW!

Wet N’ Wild’s “Party of Five Glitters”
A clear gloss polish with 2 different sizes of glitters. It’s like confetti in a bottle! This would be a good top coat to have glitter accents. Would not work well alone… Glitters are sparse.

Milani’s “Gold Glitz”
This is TRULY a “One Coat Glitter” polish! The swatch is of 2 coats, but 1 coat of this bad boy is e-nough. It’s just straight GLITTER! It’s literally 90% glitter and just enough polish to adhere them all to make a nail polish. AMAZING.

Sally Hansen’s “Strobe Light”
This was a popular polish after Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dreams” from OPI came out. I personally cannot say that this was a dupe. It’s less pink on the nails than it shows inside the bottle. The glitter coverage is OK – but if I had to pick from this or OPI’s… I’d pay the extra few bucks and go with OPI.

Confetti’s “Happy Birthday”
A nice deep purple with purple glitter. I like the purple on purple action going on in this polish. It has a more jelly consistency, but obviously buildable to an opaque color.  I’m enjoying this one for fall/winter.

China Glaze “Ruby Pumps”
I love the concept of this polish. Too bad it’s not as opaque as one would wish for looking at it from the bottle. However, with enough patience, you COULD get it to be opaque. But these days, who has the time to wait for 5 layers of nail polish to dry? Do you? Because I don’t. So I’m back on the hunt to find an opaque red, glitter polish, as beautiful as this one.

 SinfulColors “Hottie”
I really don’t think it is possible to get this polish to be opaque. It’s blue, with a very small hint of violet (depends how the light hits it). Only good if you needed a glittery top coat on a blue, purple, or violet base.

SinfulColors “I Miss You”
Pretty glitter polish for under $2.00? Sold… From the bottle, you can already tell that this would not be a good polish on it’s own. I bought it with that thought in mind. It has a clear-tinted-base, with very pretty glitters. Works perfectly over top darker pink shades, magentas, and burgundys.
